Expert Landscaping in Scottsboro, AL

Landscaping in Scottsboro means working with a climate that swings from humid summers pushing into the 90s to winter freezes that can dip into the single digits. Scottsboro sits in USDA Hardiness Zone 7b, which shapes every plant and turf decision we make. Clay-heavy soils common across North Alabama can hold too much moisture after heavy rain, so proper grading and plant selection matter from the start. Whether your property sits near Guntersville Lake, in an established neighborhood like Scottsboro South, or on a rural lot outside the city, the outdoor space around your home deserves the same attention as the structure itself. We work with homeowners across Scottsboro, Arab, Huntsville, Guntersville, Boaz, Albertville, Grant, Fort Payne, Warrior, and Hayden. Our background is in construction, which means we read a yard the way a builder reads a site: drainage, grade, and long-term performance come first. If you want a yard that holds up through Alabama's growing season and looks right year-round, call Argo Construction to get started.

What types of landscaping work does Argo Construction handle in Scottsboro?

We handle outdoor landscaping work for residential properties, with a focus on grading, plant placement, and overall yard layout. Our construction background means we approach each Scottsboro property with an eye on drainage and long-term performance.

Why does soil type matter for landscaping in the Scottsboro area?

North Alabama soils tend to run clay-heavy, which can trap water around roots and cause drainage problems after rain. Getting the grade and plant selection right from the start protects your yard and your home's foundation.

Is Argo Construction a good fit for landscaping on a lakefront or rural property near Scottsboro?

Yes, we work on properties of all types across the region, including lots near Guntersville Lake and rural parcels outside Scottsboro. Each site gets assessed on its own drainage, slope, and sun conditions.

How does the North Alabama climate affect landscaping plant choices?

Scottsboro falls in USDA Zone 7b, meaning plants need to handle winter lows that can reach near freezing and summers that push into the 90s. Choosing plants suited to that range keeps your landscape healthy without constant replacement.

Michael and Argo Construction went above and beyond for us in installing board and batten vinyl in our home and painting as well. Reasonably priced, professional, with excellent communication and service throughout. We are highly impressed with everything start to finish and highly recommend them for any job you need for your home or business. Thank you!!!

Our log home had a significant amount of water damage due to a busted water pipe and 2 bedrooms, master bath, half bath and all flooring throughout the house had to be replaced and remodeled. Mr. Helms and his crew were AMAZING! They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and did an amazing job! We are throughly pleased with his work and such a trustworthy man. He even began work on our home prior to receiving any money from our insurance company, because he’s just that kind of guy. If you need any type of work done on your home, contact him. I promise you will not be disappointed!

I have used Argo on several projects. They are very knowledgeable on building of log, timber frame, and conventional building techniques. They go above and beyond to make the owners happy and get what they want in there homes. I would highly recommend them for your next building project.

Johnny and his team were wonderful! They were hardworking, personable and did a fantastic job. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome or experience with our project!
